Low-E Protect WR is the only commercially available temporary protective coating that protects your to-be-tempered or annealed coated glass from the time of coating deposition to the moment it enters the glass washer or tempering furnace.

It provides excellent protection against aging/corrosion and is highly effective against mechanical damage from abrasion and surface scratches during transportation and processing.  At 8-10µm final film thickness, WR shows steel tip scratch resistance  up to 20 Newton force.

Requires the use of powder separation between sheets.

Extend the shelf life of your coated glass up to 1 year, allowing you and your customers more flexibility in scheduling and inventory management.

Eliminates the need for protective films. No packs to wrap, cover sheets to manage and film to remove prior to tempering with no waste film to dispose of.

Cutting pressure is equal to slightly increased or a sharper wheel used.  No special equipment required.  Edge deletion is perfomed normally.

​​Low-E Protect WR washes away under standard Low-E removal conditions in glass washers.  The materials re-disperse back into the water.  Use requires a specific water turnover or refresh to keep concentration low and non-impactful.

As a washer removal material, Low-E Protect WR is completely inert.  There is not impact to the underlying thin fims electrical or spectral properties.  

​

Low-E Protect WR has been successfully tested as a burnable tpc on all common, and some less common, top dielectric layers used in the marketplace today.  Electrical and Haze are unchanged from normal HT.  Spectral property variation is equal to improved over typical values.  A Delta E    (Δ E) < 1 is seen in all cases where the HT product normally achieves these results.
